I was able to install joomla 1.5 in fantastico  on my c-panel and I now have a blank joomla page showing on my website - but how do I edit it and customize it???

Sorry this may be a dumb question I'm a little confused....and I'm new to web design.

Thanks

Hi, Mary:

Joomla is nice once you get it going, but it does take a little doing to figure out how it works.  You'll have to set up both sections and categories to hold your articles, and then link menu items to the specific content.  You might want to look around the support website (www.joomla.org) to try to figure out how to structure the system.  A good place to start is http://www.joomla.org/about-joomla/getting-started.html

I have a small joomla site on Hostpapa - http://www.sande.ca/home - if you want to have a look at how I've set up mine.

I hope this helps,

Al

Also try this site: www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla/
I am new to web design as well and found this tutorial to be very helpful!

I tried joomla - spent a lot of time with it and kept running into brick walls.

Eventually I tried wordpress, and found that it does just about everything joomla does - and things just seem to work.
