Soholaunch Backup
I'm using Soholaunch and have been taking regular backups. I wanted to restore to a previous version so I deleted the site and restored from a backup. Only the home page was restored. I tried other backups and again, only the home page had been backed up. Anybody else come across this?

Re: Soholaunch Backup
That's not how you restore a backup. You don't delete the old site first, you just run the restore from within sohoadmin. You might have lost the whole site and might have to start over.

Re: Soholaunch Backup
Well one thing I was also trying to do was to restore a site to another domain and hence effectively a blank area. This fails in the same way. If the backup can't be used unless the site is already there, then that's not much of a backup. For example, if the site has been lost due to a hardware failure, the Sohoadmin backups are pointless.
I guess I'll have to explore other methods of backing up my sites.

Re: Soholaunch Backup
Did you make the backup in cPanel or in Sohoadmin? You have to make it in sohoadmin to be able to restore from a blank soho install. If you made the backup in cPanel it won't work because it's not backing up the database I believe.

Re: Soholaunch Backup
Sorry for the delay in responding and thank you for taking the time to reply. I used the Sohoadmin backup option and expected the complete site to be restored but it didn't. I'm now looking at possibly exporting the Soho site into Dreamweaver so I've got total control. Thanks again.

Re: Soholaunch Backup
You can't export it into Dreamweaver. Soholaunch can only be run from the hostpapa servers because that is where the license resides.
