Hi All

Novice and newbie here, desperate for some help, please?

Yesterday I followed the instructions given by Hostpapa for moving my site over and it worked! HOWEVER I decided to change my login password and EVERYTHING from there on in went wrong Sad

I even has to result in asking Hostpapa to completely reset my account back to original settings today as I just could not get my site to work again no matter what settings I changed.

I have gone through everything again as I did yesterday BUT it seems that I am getting something wrong - I suspect it has something to do with the parameters I have to change in the configuration.php file. I think it must have been a complete fluke that it worked yesterday!

Can anyone please help me to get these settings right?

Thanks

Yes, exactly as it stated.

I can only think that I managed to add the correct info in the config.php file by sheer fluke as I just cannot now get it to work - comes up with all manner of issues but mainly Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL.

What I would suggest is going into configuration.php and entering a new database password. Copy the password and go into mySQL Manager and reset the password there for the correct database name (make sure it matches the config file) by pasting in the password you copied.

Also keep in mind that the database name and database username are prefixed by your cPanel username in the format abcd1234_.

Hello

Yes, make sure your database settings are as per these procedures in your config.php file:
