Hello,

I am new to HostPapa and am ready to transfer my website from local to hostpapa servers.

I created a database with corresponding user with all the sql rights. Then I exported local database and imported it online using phpmyadmin.

I also changed configuration.php with correct user name, password, database etc.

But still, the site is not working and i get the message : Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

All the information I'm able to find on internet is that i should check the configuration.php file, which seems all ok.
I am thus out of ideas.

Am I missing something ?

Hello

Make sure your settings are correct in your configuration file, see this article:

http://hostpapasupport.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=75

Thank you

Make sure you are including your cpanel username at the beginning of both the username and database name in your config file. They should look something like, abcd1234_databasename and abcd1234_username.

Got it.

Had to change hostname into localhost, and not hostpapa's IP, as written in the knowledge page..

Thank you both for your quick reply.
