My question: I just signed up for hostpapa service with the domain name I did not intend to use. How can I change to a different name and make it a home domain? Can I do that at the cpanel? The name I used is not functioning.

Once you register a domain name it cannot be changed. The only way to correct this is to purchase the correct domain name either through hostpapa or from a registrar like godaddy.
