Newbie - Google Help
This might be a stupid question but is there a fast way to get listed on Google.
We have a brand new website and can't be found anywhere.

Re: Newbie - Google Help
Hey, mob,
I've also heard, from a few different, very reliable sources, that the quickest, and most effective way to get listed, is to get other sites to link to you. Apparently, the spiders/crawlers or whatever will pick up your site through those links faster than they would if you submit your site with google's addurl page. I guess both are the way to go, but see if you can't make that happen somehow.
This stuff is trickier than it used to be, 'cause the major search engines have stopped telling people how their algorithms work. Too many abusers, etc.
Cheers!

Re: Newbie - Google Help
The quickest route I found to getting listed on Google was: register at google.com/webmasters/ verify your domain and submit a sitemap. Then create an adsense account to display ads or the google search function, place the code on your site somewhere, and leave sitting for a month. I've always found if you are willing to display google ads or search they tend to list your site faster (I prefer to add the google search). Also if appropriate add your business/site to google maps.
Link backs to your site will strengthen your position

Re: Newbie - Google Help
Hi all,
All of the above are good strategies to get your website quickly indexed.
Depending on your websit'es topic, I will recommend another one : having a
quality linkback from an authority domain
, ie. Wikipedia.
Because of the trustrank such website has, yours will gain a lot from that domain !
Hope this helps,
