How do you improve your rankings when you've got a flash site?  Is it harder?

Yes.   I don't know how that works.   Does embedding the font help, or am I just totally clueless?

It turns out flash actually is a lousy way to handle seo.  A book I just read mentions it.  It says if your site has enough unique links coming into it, the search engines will see it as an authoritative site nomatter what, but to start, flash is an impedimant, as the spiders can't pick up the text.

Tricky stuff.  I had to adjust my own site because of this, eyeofthemonkey.com

Let me add to this thread, As long as you have a exceptable amount of text within the same page of the flash than its not any harder than any other website SEO:

It is acceptable to create "Flash-Text" as part of the code,  but you must copy exactly what the text in the flash file has as you may get audited and stuffing the "Flash-Text" will get you banned or demoted.

I think the new Google Rollout "Kaffein" is easier on flash sites now. And Im sure that in the future, flash will be incorporated more by the spiders and thus such sites will fare better in the rankings than previously. I might be mistaken though. Whether your site has a lot of flash or not, in the end what counts most for ranking high is backlinks.

I would also provide an html version of your site (if possible) so users can view either your flash site or html site. Not everyone has flash player installed so you are limiting your visitors and people with disabilities may not be able to access your content.

Yes you can get ranking higher. But its very tough. Forum posting and link bulding is best procedure get higher ranking.
