Hi,
I am having problems receiving email.  It takes like 12hrs for me to receive any email, doesnt matter who the sender is.  My emails also dissapeared! I had 15 in my inbox, and i signed out, and when i signed back in an hour later, i had no emails in my inbox!

I then linked my outlook express with my webmail, so i could view the emails using outlook express, instead of relying solely on the webmail.  Outlook express works fine, all 15 emails are there.

There are 3 options to view my webmail, Horde, SquirrelMail, and Roundcube.  Sometimes I will see my email with one, but not with the others.  So Horde will show 15 emails in my inbox, while squirrelmail and roudcube will show 0 in my inbox.

Anyone know why the webmail isnt working properly?

Thx

Hi ener, sometimes I find my emails in other folders on the root, my advice is to check all folders just in case

I too am having problems with email. Mail sometimes takes days or doesn't make it into my inbox at all. I'm using Apple Mail and used the automatic account setup script to configure my preferences. Sometimes (not always) I hear the new mail notification sound but the message does not get delivered, it only goes to the WebMail inbox. I'm also getting a tad irate with mail timing out.

What's up Hostpapa ?

I've noticed the same problem....this has to do with database corruption in the backend of some of the webmail clients.  Usually squirrel is pretty good but it's only text based.

Using a mail client like outlook or thunderbird is the best method, unfortunately if Hostpapa continues to have the problems they had last week (which I'm convinced are not fully resolved) then your mail client may not be able to attach to download mail.

Whatever you do though, DO NOT HAVE HOSTPAPA PERFORM A DB REPAIR on your mail.  This can result in permant loss of email, which happened to me twice.  That one cost me a bunch in terms of business.  Download all your mail, THEN have them do the repair if you want to go down that route.

The problem with delayed email is the same problem that was happening last week....Not sure if it will ever be resolved.  Not doing much for their service level I'm telling you.

Adam,

Dude, I've had it with Hostpapa. I've got a bunch of service tickets regarding the delayed mail but nothing ever came from it so I just gave up.  My site's always going down, then it's so blooming slow it may as well be down. The usual reply is that someone is doing something they shouldn't be doing and the servers are experiencing unusual loads. Blah Blah.

Been with Hostpapa for over a year now. Never had any speed problems or any other problems with my site. If you follow the directions in the e-mail section carefully you shouldn;t have e-mail problems either. Make sure you check the port numbers if you are using Outlook because the default Outlook ports are not correct when you set up your account in Outlook. You have to change them to what it says in the instructions for setting up e-mail clients.

sometimes hosting sites keep on updating. You may change better hosting sites for faster receiving and no inconvenience.
