Hi there, I have never used Dreamweaver to connect to a MySQL Database. Really the only need to connect to it (correct me if I am wrong) is using the software or script that you have installed that needs to use it, right?

That is correct.   I solved this question on my own the day after I posted it.

With Dreamweaver you can only connect to a test server.   You have to connect using a script.

The script is displayed below the database when you click on MySql in XPanel.

I have NO IDEA how to get my DW site/pages linked to my domain, every time I think I've got it linked properly ... it just doesn't work.

If anyone could please go through the steps of how to link my root folder to my domain, or my remote folder, so that my pages will be published online ... please help!

I'm going a little nuts over here. Total newb here.

Hi

Have you taken a look at the Dreamweaver help files on our knowledge base?

How do I connect to my database from Dreamweaver? - http://hostpapasupport.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=87

How can I upload my webfiles using FTP in Dreamweaver? - http://hostpapasupport.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=182

Always place your website content in the public_html folder, for making links on your website say if you have a shop page called shop.html and its in the public_html folder then you would just make a link in Dreamweaver and call it shop.html

Also on the Adobe site there is some great tutorials http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/tutorial_index.html

I am a Database Administrator

First you have to create a database and add a privileged user to it from your CP-> MySQL Databases. Then you should allow your IP address to access your MySQL databases remotely. You can see your IP address at: http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/.
Once you have created your database and added a user to it, you should connect to the remote server where your website and database are located. Then you can continue with setting your connection to the MySQL database.
I hope you get your solution...
