Hi all.

Is anyone else getting this issue - on two separate occasions, my email forwarders have been deleted without my permission or even involvement! I have a 'main' email account, and I forward a couple of other addresses to that account. I noticed that I was getting fewer emails than normal, logged onto cpanel, checked email forwarders and was met with an empty listing with 'no email forwarders set up...' etc.

I am REALLY concerned about this, not least because it has now happened twice, but also because I need to rely on HP to provide me with a service I can depend on for work. I'm a freelancer and use my email and hosting for my freelance work. I cannot imagine for even one moment why anyone/thing but me should ever be allowed to delete personal account level settings such as email forwarders.

I would appreciate hearing a response from other users if they're having the same problem, and from HP if they're reading this.

Many thanks, Dan

Hello

I can confirm that we do not delete customers email forwards, But cPanel could have been corrupted, there are system files inside of your root folder if you look in your main ftp account that has files that are regarding your forwarders.

The files could have been become corrupt or you or someone else accessing the ftp account could have deleted the files by mistake, This is the only reason which would cause the error.

We may need to reset your account if this is happening on a regular basis

Hi Adam - thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it then and see if it happens again. I've changed passwords etc, and made sure I'm not compromising the site in any other way. If it is file corruption, I'll guess I'll know if it happens again.

What's involved in a reset? Would I have to backup and reinstate everything from scratch, or just email?

Thanks
