Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
Is anyone out there to tell me, first: How many people working in HostPapa ? and second; Is there anybody answering any bloody phone - ever >? My God !!!! I ve been made a huge mistake to buy one of this hosting packages few days ago and I realised that it was a terrible idea after i ve seen the control panel to manage websites. The reason why i bought it cos Hostpapa was offering this deal under the guarantee of "30 Day Money Back" . Since than, I ve been try to to catch someone via mail to deal the situation properly but unfortunatelly no one answering the phone nor I don't receiving any mail to my requirements... So I decide it as a final option to write in here to get someone's attention, hopefully. I have a Ticket ID, which is SQV-157568, just in case, I'm letting you know whom might get me a help.
Ps: I already contacted with my Bank to explained the situation and also applied for the charge back anyway. So if someone get back to me kindly as soon as possible either via mail or by phone would be really suitable.

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
I feel your pain.
This wasn't a cancellation, this was a simple DNS change. Something I can do on any other ISP by myself, but apparently a ticket has to be created at Hostpapa. I told the client it would be a painless 10 minute process, which it was for all the other domains he has under different registrars. Now I'm left trying to explain why his main domain is taking all day to be updated while the other non-important domains he has have all been done, replicated and are up and running.
I opened a ticket 4 hours ago asking for a simple dns change. The ticket hasn't been looked at. Just phoned the support people and was told it's a first come, first serve basis and they have no idea how long it will be before the ticket is looked at but it could be another 5 or 6 hours.
That's potentially 10 hours to do something you can do on your own with most other registrars. (Any I work with).
Not at all impressed. Least of all that the with something so simple, technical support people on the phones can't do the update themselves and it has to be handled via a slow e-mail and ticketing process..
A word to the wise.
ig.

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
I "moved" one of my domains to HostPapa with the hosting package after reading a lot of forums and other (more or less impartial) sites where it seems they have a better customer support than others. If 1and1 had the pricing Host Papa has with heir packages I would have NEVER moved to hostpapa. It has now been almost 2 weeks since the transferring process has started and ... it is still not complete. I am fed up working on 2 sites waiting for their transfer to complete ... it took ONE single day to move a domain to 1and1. Initially I was planning to move more of the domains here ... but there is NO way i will now .. and once this period I paid for ends .... I will definitely move out.
Pathetic.

Your account was cancelled and refunded last August, did you opened a new account with a different domain name that you wish to cancel?
Thank you

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
I subscribed this morning: I thought that everything went through OK and then I realised that, in spite of giving my credit card number, the invoice was still unpaid. I called my credit card company and they said that the invoice had been paid. I left a support ticket 6 hours ago (still unactioned). Impossible to contact these guys by telephone: the recorded message says to press the "pound" key to leave a message to HostPapa and they would ring me back. What "pound" key? I logged back in HostPapa, called up the invoice and noticed an option to pay which I pressed. The invoice became paid but I am worried that I have now been charged twice. Also, since I am a novice to web hosting and construction, are there any tools with which to set up a website? Again, I have set up a support ticket 5 hours ago which has remained unanswered and again impossible to contact anybody by phone (I held on for 15 minutes). What a dismal service!
I chose HostPapa because of the good reviews but I am having second thoughts now.

If you login into your cPanel, then select Fantastico, this has options to install a ready made site such as WordPress, Joomla etc. then all you have to do is configure the site to your needs, and add content.

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
I am likely going to switch to Host Papa because from what I have researched, the customer service is good and they offer
Cheap Reliable Web Hosting
. Found reviews and price comparisons on
Small Business Web Hosting
. They seem like a small company and I am ok with a 24 hour turn around time on a ticket or even a cancel---this is comparable to the other companies out there. Plus they support MySQL and PHP which is important to me.

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
I just wrote a cancellation email...
3 days after I bought 1 year subscription, my account was still not activated.
waiting for the online help chat window for 2 hours with only 1 in queue?! when I finally got 1 person, he was nice and called me back and start asking me some question like credit card info but i did not have my credit card with me... so 3 days after I am back to square 1, waiting for another call or an email.
like previous post, they do not answer the phone, you can leave a message... which is basically worse than sending an email. and they do not reply to you anyway.
basically I cannot be comfortable using your service after this starting experience.

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
@franckusa
I apologize that you have had a poor experience with Host Papa.
We endeavor to have full coverage via for phones, chats, and ticket processing.
However, there are some days and hours when the staffing is minimal, and a rush can result in limiting the number of available agents to take a call. What region were you calling from? and what day were you calling?
One of the reasons we offer 3 methods of communication is so that if one line of communication becomes busy or swamped, an alternate method is always available.
If you can't get through via phone, try chat. If you cant get through via chat we recommend a ticket, so that at least we can address the issue as soon as the rush dies down.
@SteveL
We are happy to hear you are interested in our service. If you have any questions regarding our service dont hesitate to let us know. The Forums aren't monitored as frequently as our chat or email system. If you have any questions please email us at info@hostpapasupport.com

Re: Cancelling Hosting Plan with Host Papa
Hello Johnsonandrews5
Unfortunately I am not in a position to disclose how many people are employed with Host Papa.
As I stated in my last post, we have 3 separate methods of communication. Phones, chats, and tickets.
I apologize if you have experienced issues getting a response via phone. If and when this ever occurs I would definitely advise you hop onto our live chat support, or submit a ticket / email.
Cpanel, is a popular, industry standard user interface used by a majority of shared webhosting providers.
Is there a specific question or issue you have regarding Cpanel?
