Hi, Shawna:
Joomla is quite easy to install on Hostpapa. You can either install it by hand using the installation instructions that are found at
www.joomla.org or automatically through Fantastico in your control panel. Both ways seem to work fine without any problems... I currently have a couple of live installations on my two domains hosted here.
I've never really paid much attention to the hostpapa tutorials; they have a pretty standard LAMP server setup, so it's easy to follow the instructions provided by the various open source software developers (like Joomla) and have it work the first time. Probably the biggest problem with Joomla is in figuring out how it works with respect to menus, articles, etc - that's not a Hostpapa issue, but more one with the software itself (just think of it like using MS Word on a Dell - if you have a problem with Word, you should call Microsoft for support - not Dell). It took me a while to wrap my head around Joomla, but once I did, it's a nice piece of software.
If you're curious and want to have a look, one of my Joomla sites is at
www.sande.ca/homeI hope this helps...
